Next couple of weekends are going to be busy ones on Edisto Beach.
On March 13, the annual Pasta Dinner at McConkeys takes place from 5-8 p.m. This dinner serves as a lead in to the race that follows the next morning.
The fourth annual Edisto Road Race starts at 8:30 a.m. March 14 at the Wyndham Ocean Ridge Rec Center. This 5k, 1 mile, walk and fun run is another fundraiser that is a part of the Edisto Eats event, which helps support educational opportunities for the islands youth.
Later that same day, the Ducks Unlimited Game Dinner takes begins at 6 p.m. at Bay Creek Park. This event features hors doeuvers and a silent auction and raffle. Dinner is served at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $40 for individuals and $70 for couples. Anyone with questions can call William Hackett at 843-209-6693 or Lem Boykin at 843-830-7672.
The following weekend, prepare for the Great American Clean-Up. This is sponsored by EdistoPride, an organization committed to keeping Edisto the beautiful place we all know and love. This clean up begins at 9 a.m. at the Highway 174 Community Center. For more information about the clean up and ways to help visit www.edistopride.org.
One of Edistos most popular events takes place on March 28 as well. Thats when the 5th annual Edisto Eats Food Festival and Ultimate Chef Competition begins. This event also features an arts and crafts festival.
The day begins at noon in the parking lot of McConkeys Jungle Shack. Its encouraged that attendees donate $5, all of which goes to a good cause. There will be live music and activities for children.
The Ultimate Chef Competition begins at 2 p.m. For that event, there will be a shrimp boil from 3:30-5 p.m. Tickets for the shrimp boil are $15 in advance and $18 the day of. Kids under 12 will be admitted for $10 in advance and $12 the day of.
