Its the perfect time of year to kick back with friends, carve some pumpkins, or watch scary movies on TV. Its also the perfect time of year to come to Edisto and check out all of the events going on this weekend.
Everything kicks off Friday with the fourth annual Trick or Treat at the Creek event. From 6-8 p.m. children and their families can come out to Bay Creek Park, which is next to the marina.
The costume party kicks off at 7 p.m., so be sure to dress up for a chance to win a prize. Other games will also be available.
No trick or treat event is complete without the chance to score epic amounts of candy, and the Trick or Treat at the Creek is no exception. Candy is available at each table set up at the festival so that children can go from table to table collecting treats.
The festival also provides visitors with a chance to give back to the community as non-perishable food items will be collected and donated to the Edisto Island Food Bank, so bring out some goodies for those in need.
On Saturday, Animal Lovers of Edisto will be out at True Value on Highway 174 for a Howl-o-ween event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come meet adoptable dogs, donate to the rescue group, and even take pictures with some dogs in costumes for $5.
The most anticipated festival of the year, the Edisto Island Bluegrass Festival, kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and will go on until 10 pm. Tickets are $30 to get in the doors. Food and drinks can be purchased separately. Come out to hear some of the best bluegrass music around at Point of Pines Plantation located at the end of Point of Pines Road right off of Highway 174. Proceeds benefit the Edisto Island Preservation Alliance.
The final Halloween event taking place on Edisto is McConkeys Halloween Costume Contest at 5 p.m. Oct. 31. This event is for children ages birth to 12. A costume contest for dogs will take place right before the childrens contest at 4 p.m. Come dressed and ready to win as there are prizes for the best costumes.
Hit up each of these fun Edisto Beach Halloween events this weekend to experience a real Edisto Halloween.
