Looking for something to do this weekend? Now is the perfect time to visit Edisto for a little rest and relaxation.
Tournament Time
For those of you interested in getting out on the water or sitting on the dock sipping a cold drink, head out to the second annual Redfish Tournament.
This tournament, which is hosted by Edisto Watersports and Tackle, encourages anyone interested in getting the largest spottail on the line to come out and participate.
The captains meeting for this event is Oct. 23 at Edisto Watersports. The tournament begins Saturday, October 24.
The public is welcome to come out to see the days catch as tournament participants return with their daily catch.
Explore the Shops
The fall weather this time of year provides a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the many shops on Edisto Island. Plus, with the holidays right around the corner, now is a great time to stock up on gifts. Many of the areas shops sell items unique to Edisto. For instance, if you stop at the Edisto Bookstore you can find books written about Edisto and by local authors.
You can also stock up on Edisto Beach swag in virtually every gift shop on the island. After all, who wouldnt be totally thrilled receiving an authentic Edisto sweatshirt?
Explore the Waterways
This time of year is great for taking the time to go on an ecotour or pleasure cruise. Botany Bay Ecotours or Edisto Watersports sunset cruise both provide patrons with the chance to get out on the water and appreciate the beauty of the island.
With an ecotour, you will learn more about what makes the ACE Basin and Edisto itself so unique. Youll also get the chance to see some wildlife and marine life up close and personal. The ecotours are perfect for families with children of all ages.
As for the sunset cruises, these provide a way for visitors to relax and absorb the spectacular sights as the sun fades away.
No matter what you decide to do this weekend, youre guaranteed to have a great time on Edisto Beach.
