It’s hard to believe it’s already September, but there’s still plenty of great weather to be enjoyed on Edisto Beach.
What’s great about this time is that many rental homes are available at cheaper rates since it is officially late summer. But that doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on any of the greatness that Edisto has to offer.
If you’ve already planned your vacation this month or want to come down for a spur of the moment getaway, here what you can expect.
Sultry Summer Days
The temperatures and humidity are relatively high, and so is the water temperature. This makes for some great days at the beach. If you’re not staying on front beach, bring down an awning or beach tent to protect yourself from the sun while spending the day in the sand and surf.
Water temperatures are in the mid-80s this time of year, so be sure to bring a raft or two on your vacation. After all, you’ll want to spend as much time as possible floating in and taking advantage of the temperate Atlantic.
Smaller Crowds
The peak season is now over, so that means Edisto is a little cleared out. That doesn’t mean it is a ghost town (that time of year is still a few months away); it just means you’ll be able to get a table at restaurants a little faster.
Most students are back in school by now (in some form), so if you really want to experience smaller crowds, come down to Edisto around that time.
This is a great time to visit the tourist attractions in Charleston as well.
Take Advantage of Savings
Since rental homes are cheaper this time of year, use some of the money you saved on the home on something extra for your vacation. Try renting a golf cart or bikes for the entire family. That way you can leave your car parked at the house and bike or cart around the island. Just pay attention to golf cart laws, which will be made available to you when you rent the cart.
You could also book an eco-tour, fishing charter, or go off the island and take advantage of one of the many tours in Charleston.
Soak Up the Sun
No matter when you come to Edisto, it’s bound to be an experience you’ll never forget.
So whether it’s your first time or your 100th time, try and do something every day that will make you fall in love with the place over and over again.
