Valentine’s Day Weekend in Edisto Beach & Charleston

Edisto Beach Vacation Homes

Nothing says love more than a trip to Edisto Beach! With Valentine’s Day weekend rapidly approaching, consider coming out to the beach with your Valentine to celebrate.

This weekend should be bright and sunny with highs in the low 50s. So, depending on where you’re from, this will either be a nice chance to thaw out or bundle up. Here are just some of the ways you can enjoy the area this Valentine’s Day.

1. Carriage Ride Through Historic Downtown Charleston: Want to do something extra special for Valentine’s Day? Try heading into Charleston. After all, nothing says romance more than cobblestone streets, ocean views, and carriage rides.

With Palmetto Carriage, you can arrange for a romantic one hour carriage tour through the streets of Charleston with your Valentine. With this private tour you will experience areas that rarely make it onto tourists to-do list while visiting and discover the history of buildings and architecture throughout 30 blocks of Charleston’s historic district. Remember, private tours need to be reserved ahead of time.

2. The Dark Side of Charleston Walking TourNot into the romance? Head into Charleston anyway and listen to some of the city’s most sordid tales by taking part in The Dark Side of Charleston walking tour.

This tour features stories about the real nitty gritty part of the city’s past, including history of the area’s brothels, ladies of the night, crime, scandal, and everything else in between. As an added bonus, this tour is perfect for jilted lovers looking to hear about some other tales that didn’t end happily.

3. Southern Wildlife Expo: Just looking for something fun to do with the whole family? Check out the Southern Wildlife Expo this weekend in downtown Charleston. This event begins on Friday February 12 and continues through Valentine’s Day. The expo includes demos from Chef Bob Waggoner and the Center for Birds of Prey. Learn how to identify deer and their age as well as how to properly cast netting. Visit the art exhibits for local student’s award winning pieces of art. Or, do it doggy-style and make your way to the Retriever demos and Dockdog competitions.

No matter what you decide to do this Valentine’s Day, just remember it doesn’t matter how many cards you get in your box as long as you get to spend the day with the one you love the most.

4. Green Boat Discount Liquors Grand Opening: If you want to heat yourself up from the inside out, come out to Green Boat Discount Liquors located at 436 Highway 174 (right next to Kapp Lyon’s) for their grand opening.

This event begins at 11 a.m. and features a ribbon cutting ceremony and cookout. Plus, the grand opening will be fun for the whole family as liquor can only be purchased by adults with ID. That said, come out for hot dogs, chips, drinks, giveaways, and door prizes. You can also take advantage of product discounts so you and your Valentine can head back to the house with your favorite bottle.
